Maggie Houlihan Memorial Dog Park is over two acres and is situated in an Encinitas Community Park.  The facility has two fenced play spaces so small dogs can be separated from the main area.  designated dog play areas.  The dog park has drinking water, cleanup bags, and benches.

This beautiful neighborhood park boasts gorgeous ocean views that your pet can enjoy off-leash with you at designated hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.  It provides drinking water, has grass, benches, and shade.  It is not fenced in.

North Beach in Del Mar is also known as Dog Beach because it’s the only place dogs can be off-leash on Del Mar city beaches. From 29th Street north all the way to Solana Beach dogs can run freely, except during the summer months when they must be on-leash. The main part of this beach is on the north side of the San Dieguito River Lagoon entrance next to Camino del Mar. Typically there are many volleyball courts set up in the wide flat part of the beach. Surfers can breaks on sand bars near the river mouth and reefs north of it. A trail leads up to an overlook at James Scripps Bluff Preserve above North Beach and is worth exploring. Parking can be found along Camino del Mar behind the beach and also at 29th Street.

Alga Norte Dog Park is located in the brand new Community Park in North County San Diego in Carlsbad, CA. This new park features a state of the art aquatic center, San Diego County’s largest skate park, three ball fields, basketball courts, and picnic areas with barbeques.

The dog park itself is divided into three areas all that are double gated for extra protection. The sections are allocated for dogs under 35lbs, dogs over 35lbs and a park specified for training purposes. The park is covered with a wood chip type mulch/bark and does not have any grass or dirt. The large dog park has five different obstacles / play equipment for the dogs; a pole with three adjustable height markers for dogs to jump over, a tunnel to crawl through, an incline/decline platform to climb over, platform to jump up on and three hoops to jump through
